About the Department
Computer Science and Engineering is one of the fastest-growing career fields in modern history. Dating back only a few decades, it has become the most leading industry in the world today. A career in the field of computer science and engineering has been proven to be a worth-while direction for many young enthusiasts and this trend is looking very bright in the new millennium.
The Department of Computer Science and Engineering was established in the year 1996 with an intake of 60 in B.Tech. Computer Science and Engineering (CSE). The intake was increased to 120 in the year 2000 and subsequently to 180 in 2013 and 240 in the year 2014 respectively. Students are also admitted under the lateral entry scheme. The B.Tech program is Re-accredited (fourth cycle of Accreditation) by NBA for three years (01.07.2020 to 30.06.2023)
Department of Computer Science and Engineering offers B.Tech in Computer Science and Engineering(CSE), Computer Science and Engineering with Specialization in Artificial Intelligence(CSE-AI), Computer Science and Engineering in Data Science(CSE-DS) and M.Tech. in Computer Science(CS).
Department is equipped with well-qualified and dedicated faculty members to train students towards their holistic development.
The department provides students with learning mechanisms to develop Computing Systems and Software. Students are facilitated with high-end computers, servers, libraries with the latest Titles, NPTEL Courseware, and Journals alongside High-Bandwidth internet to facilitate effective learning.
Students are imparted with training in cutting-edge technologies through Seminars, Workshops, and Guest Lectures alongside Technical Symposiums/paper contests; and co-curricular and Extra-curricular events through the technical associations of the department. Strong mentoring by the faculty members to monitor student progression and personality development.

- The Department of Computer Science and Engineering is established to provide undergraduate and graduate education in the field of Computer Science and Engineering to students with diverse background in foundations of software and hardware through a broad curriculum and strongly focused on developing advanced knowledge to become future leaders.
- Create knowledge of advanced concepts, innovative technologies and develop research aptitude for contributing to the needs of industry and society.
- Develop professional and soft skills for improved knowledge and employability of students.
- Encourage students to engage in life-long learning to create awareness of the contemporary developments in computer science and engineering to become outstanding professionals.
- Develop attitude for ethical and social responsibilities in professional practice at regional, National and International levels.
- Department is well Equipped with state-of-the-art Laboratories and equipment for enhancing teaching-learning among students and to promote research atmosphere in the department.
- Department is Equipped with 17 laboratories to meet the curricular needs of UG, PG and PhD programs offered in the department.
- High-End configuration systems with high-speed Internet Connectivity are available for student usage in laboratories to facilitate excellent learning experience.
- AICTE grants were received by the department for modernization of the laboratories along with self-sufficient support from the institution.

- The Government of Andhra Pradesh awarded 10 Pratibha Awards to University Toppers of the department.
- JNTUA, Ananthapuramu has recognized the Department of CSE as Research Centre for Ph.D. Program from the academic year 2013-14.
- MODROBS grant of Rs. 10 Lakhs was sanctioned by AICTE and the same was utilized for development of Computer Vision Laboratory.
- 25 MoUs’ with reputed Industries, Organizations and Institutions for Academic and Research collaborations.
