A career in the field of computer science and engineering has been proven to be a worth-while direction for many young enthusiasts and this trend is looking very bright in the new millennium.

Department of Computer Science and Engineering offers B.Tech in Computer Science and Engineering, M.Tech. in Computer Science and M.Tech in Computer Networks and Information Security.

Department is well supported by well qualified faculty members who are dedicated to train students towards holistic development. Currently there are 15 members of faculty with phd qualification in the department.

The department equips students with all the necessary learning mechanisms to exceptionally develop computing systems and Software. Students are supported by high-end computers, servers, library with latest Titles, NPTEL Courseware, and Journals alongside an internet facility to facilitate effective learning.

Students are also facilitated with training in cutting edge technologies through Seminars, workshops and Guest Lectures alongside Technical Symposiums / paper contests; and co-curricular and Extra-curricular events through department instigated technical associations. Strong mentoring by facility is available to monitor student progression and personality development.

The Department of Computer Science and Engineering was established in the year 1996 with an intake of 60 in B.Tech. Computer Science and Engineering (CSE). The intake was increased to 120 in the year 2000 and subsequently to 180 in 2013 and 240 in the year 2014 respectively. Students are also admitted under the lateral entry scheme. The B.Tech program is Re-accredited (fourth cycle of Accreditation) by NBA for three years (01.07.2020 to 30.06.2023)

Department of Computer Science and Engineering offers B.Tech in Computer Science and Engineering(CSE), Computer Science and Engineering with Specialization in Artificial Intelligence(CSE-AI), Computer Science and Engineering in Data Science(CSE-DS) and M.Tech. in Computer Science(CS).

PHILOSOPHY

The Department of Computer Science and Engineering believes in that, the students of the program have to make quantitative predictions and effects of the software and solutions they deliver. It is understood here as a well-thought-out mix of social cause with scientific and technological interventions. Hence it is our humble endeavor to train students holistically in modeling and computing.

Faculty

The department is headed by Dr. B. Narendra Kumar Rao, with 19 years of experience in Teaching, Research and Industry. There are currently 16 Professors and Associate Professors with Ph.D qualifications and 35 members with M.Tech qualification, continuously striving to equip students with necessary knowledge, Skills and Attitude and laying foundations for a better future.

  • Department is well Equipped with state-of-the-art Laboratories and equipment for enhancing teaching-learning among students and to promote research atmosphere in the department.
  • Department is Equipped with 17 laboratories to meet the curricular needs of UG, PG and PhD programs offered in the department.
  • High-End configuration systems with high-speed Internet Connectivity are available for student usage in laboratories to facilitate excellent learning experience.
  • AICTE grants were received by the department for modernization of the laboratories along with self-sufficient support from the institution.

Research and Consultancy

Preamble:

The department is making remarkable strides in research in the latest emerging areas of Computer Science and Engineering. Faculty members are capable of applying the nuances of computer science research with interdisciplinary and multi-disciplinary areas. Research Centers have been established in the areas of Intelligent Computing and Pattern Recognition. The Department is facilitated with the required equipment for researching in the areas of Computer Vision and allied areas. JNTUA, Anathapuramu recognized the research center in the department for offering a Ph.D. degree. Enthusiastic faculty members involve research scholars, postgraduate and undergraduate students of the department to take up research activities. Research Outcomes of the department are observed in terms of applications for research projects, Publications in Journals, Presentations in conferences, and Filing of Patents.

Grants

Sanction of MODROBS grants by AICTE worth more than Rs. 10.00 lakhs for modernization of lab facilities for students in the department.

Publications, Patents and Books

Research Outcomes of faculty members are published in peer-reviewed and reputed journals such as SCI/ SCOPUS/ WoS/ SCI expanded indexed journals. During the last 3 years, a total of 80 papers have been published in the journals and 95 papers were presented in the Conferences.

Faculty members are continuously working on innovations and their outcomes are witnessed through patents. A total of 17 patents were filed/published.

Faculty members have been authoring books/book chapters. A total of 14 Book chapters were authored in the past 3 years.
